Interior designer in Kalk Bay

A century-old holiday home in the harbour village, composed around its owners’ art.

The Kalk Bay Art House is the studio’s most published project: a century-old holiday home belonging to two art collectors, reworked so that the rooms are built around the collection rather than the other way round — dark geometric wallpaper behind the dining nook, a cane-panelled dressing corridor, a loft lounge under a white-panelled vaulted ceiling.

Home magazine ran it as a ten-page feature in December 2023, Tuis carried the same house in Afrikaans, and kykNET’s Die Ontwerpers filmed Sihan Wiid walking through the project and the South African makers behind it. The studio designed the scheme and sourced and supplied furniture and lighting for it.

We look forward to unlocking that front door every time; it’s a wonderful space.
