Interior designer in Simon’s Town

The Dragonfly — a Victorian heritage home restored with its owner, and Home magazine’s Reader Home for December 2025.

The Dragonfly is a Victorian heritage house in Simon’s Town that its owner, Gisela Piercey, restored with Sihan Wiid: a kitchen under its skylight with woven pendants, a lounge with patterned panels on the wall, and a scheme Home magazine described as a kaleidoscope of colour, tile and paint that respects the house’s roots.

Home ran it as the Reader Home in its December 2025 – January 2026 issue, with Sihan’s own advice column on renovating a heritage home. Working inside a heritage house — what can change, what must stay — is the kind of renovation the studio takes on in the older seaside suburbs.

From a single room to a whole renovation, the studio designs and then manages the work — layouts, joinery, colour, lighting, fabrics and furniture, through to the finished space. Tell us about the house.
