How Mink Works · Cape Town

Process

One hand,
the whole way
through.

Mink is led by Sihan Wiid and works out of Cape Town. The studio takes a space from the first conversation and the design through to the finished room — layouts and joinery, furniture and lighting, and the site itself.

Sihan leads Mink from Cape Town and stays with a project the whole way — the first meeting and survey, the layouts and the mood, the joinery and the fabric, then the site through to the last piece placed. She was featured on kykNET’s Die Ontwerpers, and her Lexus Design Pod won at Decorex in Johannesburg in 2024.

The Mink Process
  1. Defining the Project

It starts with a meeting — your vision, your needs, your personal style — and a detailed survey of the space itself. Together we define what each area has to do, and accurate measurements and plans become thoughtful layouts tailored to it, whether residential, commercial or retail.

  2. Concept & Design

The concept comes to life through floor layouts, mood boards and visualisations, with the budget refined alongside. Mink presents one cohesive scheme — layouts, mood, colour palettes, bespoke joinery, lighting, fabrics and furniture — balanced, functional and aligned with your vision.

  3. Project Managing

Mink manages every aspect of the build — tendering and selecting the best suppliers, sourcing and procuring materials and key pieces — resolving issues along the way and handling the close-out details, through to a flawless finished space.

Our Approach

Not a look applied
to a room.
A room built
around the people
in it.

Each space begins with what is already there — the architecture, the people who live in it, and the materials and details that suit both. There is no house style waiting to be applied.
